|

|
Set
timer for 30 minutes to begin. |
|

|
30 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, preheat the outdoor gas grill on high and start
the steak. Remove all visible fat from 2 lb boneless top sirloin steak. Place the
steak on a large cutting board. Rub 11⁄2 t minced garlic on top of the steak. |
|
|
Sprinkle with
-1⁄2 t steak seasoning and 1 t liquid smoke. Pierce the steak
with a fork numerous times to help season the steaks. Set aside. |
 |
25 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, prepare the corn. Remove and discard the
husks from 6 ears bi-colored sweet corn. Dampen a dish towel with water. Place
the towel in the middle of a carousel microwave plate. Rinse the ears of corn
under water. Do not dry. Stack the corn into a pyramid shape in center of the
wet towel. Wrap the towel over the corn to help it remain moist while it cooks. |
|
Cook for 6 minutes. |
 |
20 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, make the mushrooms. Rinse 2 packages button
mushrooms under cold running water. Place the mushrooms in a medium
nonstick saucepan, along with the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Italian
salad dressing, and 2 t water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Cover and
turn off the heat. |
 |
15 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, rearrange the corn in the microwave and
cook an additional 6 minutes. Turn off heat to the mushrooms. Cover and
leave the mushrooms in the pan until ready to serve dinner.
Rearrange the ears of corn and microwave another 6 minutes. |
 |
10 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, place the steak at a 45-degree angle on the
preheated grill. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, and then press the steak firmly with
tongs to create grill marks into the meat. Close the lid of grill and cook the
steak over high heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Rotate the steak 45 degrees to create
diamond-shaped grill marks. Cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes.* |
 |
7 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, rearrange the ears of corn within the pyramid
and cook another 6 minutes. |
 |
5 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, turn over the steak and grill the same way,
cooking for 4 to 6 minutes for medium rare to medium. Cook longer if you
prefer medium-well or well-done steaks. |
 |
3 MINUTES BEFORE DINNER, place the mushrooms in serving bowl with a
slotted spoon. Place the corn on a serving plate. Place the steak on another
serving plate. Spread 2 T butter in the center of the hot dog bun (or a slice of
bread) and place on a small plate. Have guests roll their own ear of corn in
the buttered bread. |

NOTE: A meat thermometer should read 145 degrees for medium rare steaks. |
